Description

hmmm... what to say without giving it all away...
the basic story is this.. someone stole my heart by just being themselves.. i'm not bitter... just more confused then anything.. so today is her birthday(Feb 9th) which to the women in the world out there.. this guy remembers dates... oh buddy do i... so anywho... for what ever reasons that still have not been cleared through the fog... i'm not the one for her... seems to be going around these days, and that's cool... i can dig it..
so as the hermit i am, i really can't seem to face her yet without feeling a slew of emotions all at the same time, so i've been hiding more, it's tough when you work at the same job... so she invited me to go to her moms and i really like her mom too.. but i had to decline, i'm just not ready for that yet...
"the tide musta come in and washed that faint line in the sand away, cause i can't see it anymore."
So anyway, on to the painting.....
So this girl, loves, and i mean loves the kokopelli...
for those of you that may not know, the kokopelli is a prehistoric deity depicted hundreds of times in rock art, some of it over a thousand years old, located in numerous sites in southwestern United States deserts and mountains. Often depicted as a humpbacked flute player, this mythic being has survived in recognizable form from Anasazi times to the present. There is something appealing about Kokopelli which fascinates all kinds of people, even in our modern technological age
The Anasazi or "Ancient Ones" were primarily farmers, growing corn, beans, and squash in the Four Corners area on the Colorado Plateau. Both the Basketmaker Period (dating at least from about 200 B.C.) and the Pueblo Period (dating from about 700 A.D.) include the humpbacked flute player among their deities or supernaturals. Long-distance trade networks and migrations from Mexico apparently helped spread cultural and religious elements, so that by 1500 A.D. fluteplayer images were also included in the Hohokam, Mogollon, and Fremont cultures, in petroglyphs (rock carving), pictographs (rock painting), kiva murals, ceramics and baskets. Today, Kokopelli is one of the Hopi kachinas, and is in many traditional stories and songs of Native Americans of the desert southwest.

she has all kinds of things with them on it.. kind of like my infatuation with anything with stars on it.. only hers has a whole big history behind it...
so i figured, i would try and challenge myself by making a gift for her that no one else will ever have... a lot of people know how i feel about original artwork... and to date this is only the sixth painting, that i gave away. Only the second i've done for someone special....

But if you only knew what i had to go through tonight.. just to leave it on her door.... lol.. i think i'll keep it a secret...

i'm sorry the description is long.. i do hope you like the painting..
